As we age, certain areas of the face lose soft tissue volume, and this contributes to the appearance of an aged face. In cases where the skeleton of the face does not have enough volume, cheek and lip implants can be used to help add volume to areas that are deficient. The chin is the most common location for implants, followed by the cheeks. In many cases where the loss of volume is age-related (rather than related to lack of bony prominence) the facial appearance can be corrected with fat or other volumizing fillers like Sculptra® or Voluma®, rather than implants.
SurgiSil is a company we utilize for their Perma Facial Implant™ line, the safe, definitive solution for permanent tissue augmentation. Perma Facial Implant™ is a patented, FDA-approved device designed for tissue augmentation of the face and has undergone extensive clinical testing to ensure its safety and efficacy.
Perma Facial Implant™ is made of a soft, solid silicone elastomer using an injection molding process to produce a naturally-contoured implant with a smooth, non-porous surface. The implant cannot rupture or deflate, and may be removed at any time.
Facial implants may be performed in the office or at the surgery center. Facial implants can be made from a number of different materials, but they are all long-lasting and should give permanent improvement in the areas of concern. Dr. Bowman and Dr. Cawthon will make their recommendations for you based on your individual needs and appearance.
Dr. Cawthon performs all of our cheek and chin implant procedures. To schedule a private and complimentary consultation to discuss facial implants or any other facial rejuvenation procedure, please call 334-834-7221 or fill out this form, and someone will contact you.
