Rhinoplasty is the name for an operation to reshape the appearance of the nose. This procedure can be performed for aesthetic reasons, functional problems, or a combination of both.

Rhinoplasty is usually done under general anesthesia at the surgical center. Oftentimes, an incision is used underneath the nose. Once healed, this incision is virtually invisible. As with any surgical procedure, there is some expected swelling afterwards, most of which recedes in the first 2 weeks after surgery. A variable amount of bruising is possible, but most patients do not experience much discomfort after rhinoplasty.

Rhinoplasty is a very individualized procedure, as one nose does not fit every face. If you are interested in changing the shape of your nose, spend a few minutes in front of the mirror. Try and visualize which aspects of your nose you would like to improve. If you have any problems breathing through your nose, make sure you mention this during your consultation.  Dr. Cawthon will make sure that your new nose will look natural and help enhance your natural beauty.
